Marketers are (again) turning to Hollywood-style entertainment content to stand out in an increasingly crowded media landscape.
Starbucks is the latest entrant into the fray: On Monday, the company announced the launch of Starbucks Studios, which will “produce original entertainment and tell stories that deepen connections and spark conversations.”
Starbucks Studios will work with Sugar23, a media company founded by Oscars winner Michael Sugar. Sugar23 connects brands with filmmakers to produce branded entertainment projects. “Starbucks Studios advances our mission to nurture the limitless possibilities of human connection,” said Christy Cain, vp of brand and partnerships marketing, in a statement.
